The role of the Quality Manager will be to define, establish and direct and maintain the overall quality standards across the Wellsburg plant.

  • Strong presence on shop floor
  • Providing leadership and development for plant employees to ensure customer quality standards are upheld
  • Achieving financial objectives by reducing cost of quality as reflected in gross/net credits, eliminating rework and waste
  • Providing leadership to ensure successful continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensuring Mondi Quality Measurement System metrics and key process indicators are identified, measured, action driven, and institutionalized in all departments
  • Driving collaboration across departments to ensure quality is always our competitive advantage
  • Conduct training on all quality topics for relevant employees 
  • Be a Key Liaison for the plants in dealing with Customers 
  • Work directly with Sales and Operations where needed

Responsibilities

  • Support/check and ensure a good quality of monthly Quality figures reported
  • Provides status reports to management as needed
  • Support quality reporting and investigations following the guidelines.
  • Support Quality activities if needed, including (but not limited to):
  • Professional responses provided to customers on a timely basis
  • Trainings
  • Implementation of Mondi standards
  • Continuous improvement project related to quality
  • Internal audits
  • Developing SOP’s
  • Arranging meetings
  • Monitor quality activities
  • Organise quality meetings in the area of responsibility
  • Expert role for Quality related topics.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure successful SQF audits
  • Deliver presentations, facilitate and address issues at a senior management level
  • Proactively bring appropriate resources to bear on issues before escalation
  • Support certification & quality system processes
  • Comprehensive support Key account incident investigation, etc.
  • Provides status reports as needed
  • Support in quality activities if needed
  • Support and challenge the Plant Management in order to implement quality initiatives
  • Standardized corrective actions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent work experience.

  • Work Experience: 5+ working as Quality specialist (manufacturing environment, experience as a quality expert preferred, but not required), good technical understanding and industrial experiences in the packaging business preferred but not required. Paper and or packaging converting experience preferred. Ability to confidently engage and build rapport at operator, commercial, leadership, and customer level. Connect stakeholders to need and support for Mondi Quality Management System.
