Job Summary:
We are hiring a Technical Sales Rep for a key division of our company. This position will be located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role will be responsible with solving customer issues with product use and performance through their processes. The role would also manage the onboarding of new customers and products while being a liaison between the customer(s) and manufacturing plant ensuring a successful product trial process.
Your Mission:
- Work with internal sales team by providing technical expertise and product solutions to meet the customer’s needs
- Provide technical support to Planning, Production, Customer Service and the Sales Team as required
- Assist plants with the investigation and resolution of customer complaints
- Proactively visit customer locations to partner with them to solve issues and provide technical expertise thus enhancing value to both organizations
- Partnering with sales to enhance and market industrial packaging
- Interact with customers to provide bag knowledge and understand parameters such as shelf life, filling speed, and UV resistance
- Manage bag trials through trial process from establishing Specification to successful customer onboarding; ensuring that the process is followed with documented outcomes/results
- Oversee select customer accounts, integrating technical service and business development efforts to accelerate profitable growth
- Drive targeted new customer acquisition by aligning technical insight with commercial strategy to unlock growth opportunities
- Active participation in regional and plant safety teams
- Sharing of best manufacturing processes learned in the field and across our manufacturing locations
- Works with OEM Machinery manufacturers to develop and execute plans for additional product and service offerings that compliments Mondi offerings
- Diffuse difficult customer/plant situations
- Provide onsite technical support with filling equipment and packaging
- Act as the voice of the customer to plant operators, production management and quality
- Reinforce the customer’s bag usage information for accurate production replenishment
- Research customer inquiries and provide follow up
- Develop technical documentation and training for both internal and external teams
- Participates in customer sales process, and visits customer locations for department presentations and negotiations
- Safety policy adherence at Mondi manufacturing plants and the customer’s sites
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related business field
- Technical field experience preferred
- Experience selling paper or packaging products strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
- Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Overall computer skills proficiency.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency.
