Shipping Supervisor

Your mission:

The Shipping Supervisor coordinates activities of workers responsible for picking and preparing product for shipping both nationally and internationally and loading and unloading product.  This position interacts with management, employees, customers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers, among others, to ensure accuracy and timely process completion.  This position reports directly to the Managing Director.

• Responsible for supervising the warehousing and shipping of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Supervises warehouse personnel.
• Staff, train, evaluate and develop team of 6-10 employees.
• Supervise the daily activities of the warehouse.
• Schedule warehouse employees to meet the demands of the facility.
• Allocate necessary space for stock rotation.
• Assist and maintain appropriate inventory levels and product loss control.
• Manage bin moves, pallet locations, and overall warehouse inventory.
• Oversee shipping and receiving functions as applicable.
• Manage within budget
• Use the company’s SAP system(ISCA) to manage orders and deliveries
• Manage all freight pickups
• Negotiate freight rates with broker
• Prepare all documents, labels and packaging necessary for outgoing shipments including International shipment documentation
• Communicate with freight handlers, customers, brokers, and all necessary parties in the supply chain to coordinate incoming and outgoing freight.
• Work with Manager to verify inventory transactions and maintain inventory accuracy
• Work in conjunction with the Sales/Service teams to ensure timely scheduling of deliveries

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from an accredited four year College or University
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, Power Point
• Experience with SAP is desirable
• Experience with forklift operations and the ability to operate a forklift is a plus
